Course

The GFNY Marathon Florida course starts out with a bang: you get to race a big loop on the high adrenaline Sebring International Raceway. Experience 4.2 miles of exhilarating racing under floodlights to get you warmed up. Once you leave the track, you’re heading north towards the airport and then west along Kenilworth Blvd and east on Carroll Shelby Rd. This straight and flat road is perfect to dial in your ideal pace while ample water stations, volunteers and music motivate you.

GFNY Marathon Florida is both a race and a party! The course is divided into three out-and-back legs, which provides a fantastic racer and spectator experience. The compact route setup means that you are never far from the center of the action with family, friends and fans. The entire section along Carroll Shelby Rd is a designated Fan Zone where spectators can put up their tents and tailgate as they cheer their runners as they pass by multiple times. Also the triangle at Haywood Taylor and Kenilworth Blvd is a spectator Hot Corner that provides several chances to cheer the passing athletes. GFNY has multiple music areas along the course.

The course is USATF measured and serves as a qualifier for races such as the Boston Marathon or NYC Marathon. The early morning start and flat course profile make for GFNY Marathon Florida your perfect PR and qualification race.

Half Marathon: FL21031JK

All about GFNY Marathon Sebring

Pick up your race packet at the Sebring Civic Center on Friday and Saturday before the race. Enjoy pre-race socializing and race week activities as part of your Sebring trip by joining us for 8am group runs on Friday and Saturday and a pre-race Happy Hour at Cowpoke’s on Friday.

On race morning, all runners line up for the start on Madrid Drive. After crossing the start line, turn right onto Carroll Shelby Rd and head east for a short stretch. Take the first left and enter the Sebring International Raceway via Gate 4. All runners run one 4.4-mile loop around the track, and then exit again at Gate 4. There is one water station on the track, at mile 2, at the Big Bend. The cutoff at Big Bend is 30 minutes from the start to continue on the full race track loop.

Fun Run runners head back to the finish line heading west on Carroll Shelby Rd for 500ft and turning left onto Madrid Dr and the finish line.

Half & Marathon runners go straight on Carroll Shelby, then turn right onto Haywood Taylor Blvd. You will pass a water station (B) as you run north towards the North End turn-around point. Turn left onto Webster Turn Drive. At the North End is the turn-around point and another water station (N).

After that, Half & Marathon runners head south along Webster Turn Drive, turn right onto Haywood Taylor and continue straight. Bear right onto Kenilworth Blvd. You will pass aid station B. Head west towards the West End and turn-around. There will be three aid stations on this stretch: on Kenilworth (C), at the West End (W) and again after you make the western turn-around, on the return trip along Kenilworth (C).

You will pass again the Kenilworth-Haywood Taylor-Airport Rd triangle Hot Corner and station B. Then a quick right-left: right onto Haywood Taylor, left onto Carroll Shelby.

Get ready for an energy transfer from your fans as they cheer you from the Fan Zone on Carroll Shelby.

From here, the Half Marathon will turn right to the Finish Line on Madrid Dr.

The 26.2-mile runners continue with their full marathon by going straight on Carroll Shelby Rd. You will have three aid stations on Carroll Shelby: on Carroll Shelby (D), at the East End (E) and again after you make the eastern turn-around, on the return trip along Carroll Shelby (D). If you paced yourself well, you might even be able to negative split the last miles.

Proceed straight past the Carroll Shelby Rd Fan Zone, the quick right-left, right onto Haywood Taylor, left onto Kenilworth Blvd. Pass aid station B, then head to the West End, and pass stations C, W, and C again. Proceed out to the East End, pass stations B, D, E, and D.

The Marathoners complete their race turning left onto Madrid Dr.

All finishers get a medal and an icy, wet GFNY finisher towel to cool off at the finish line. Join us in the Recovery Zone with post-race snacks, drinks, music and watch the awards ceremony on the stage.

At 2:30PM, the entire course closes for both the half and full marathon distances.
